This show was specifically for the sexy at heart. The Lower level of Iberian Rooster was lit with an array of live performances from those that bend the borders of the hip-hop and R&B genre like Sam E. Hues to those speak to directly to the soul, like my sista and prolific poet Wanesha Spencer.
One performance that stood out was Tommy Phenom, and the collection of talented musicians that create a band known as….
well they don’t have a name yet exactly. Regardless of labels, the lineup includes Bangarang bassist, Devon Gilbert, so it’s a sure thing this new venture into soul music and rock & roll will be in the pocket if you know what I mean.
For those who didn’t get a chance to make out to Art & Soul, don’t feel bad. You’ll have a chance to make it up this coming Thursday. Left Lane Ent. is taking over The Bends for a special Welcome 2 Knoxville birthday edition. Trust me when I say, Dj Knox ain’t holding nothing back. Including King Knox, there will be 3 other turntable virtuosos and the entire event will be hosted by Sir Grimey & Buckwheat.
Side Note. The Welcome 2 Knoxville birthday Bash will be sponsored by Crown Royal so be ready to turn up!
